When it comes to beauty trends I’m all about the simple, classic, and natural trends and when I find one I love, I keep it forever. I’ve got a thing for those trends that never go out of style and the ombré French manicure is one of those. I’ve aways loved a good French manicure and this is a modern twist on the classic. Usually I keep a light, natural pink on my nails that I do myself, but whenever I decide to splurge on a professional manicure I always go for the French. It’s just so classic. It’s a trend that’s been around for years and it still looks just as sophisticated now as it did years ago. But, this time around, I went for an ombré French manicure and I definitely have a new favorite.
Most beauty trends are simply fads that come and go, but here’s why the ombré French manicure is one that’s sure to stay.
It’s easier than its original counterpart. I remember the days of putting tape on your nails to get those perfect lines for a French manicure. Those days are over! If you are doing your nails yourself, this makes things a whole lot less stressful for you. Sure it may take you some practice to get the blending down, but the beauty is in the imperfection.
They look more natural. One of the things I love about French manicures is their “natural” look, but let’s be real, no one has perfect, high contrasting lines on their nails like that. The ombré French manicure better mimics the natural color blending of your actual nail. To ensure that your nails appear more natural, go for a shade lighter, not so pink shade for your base color and opt for a rounded or squoval nail shape.
BONUS! It’s the perfect bridal nail. (It is wedding season after all!) Because these are a trend that will never go out of style, they are perfect for weddings, for brides, bridesmaids, and guest alike. You’ll never look back at photos wondering what was that hideous nail trend I went with on my wedding day. They’re timeless and they go with anything.
What do you think of this new twist on a classic? Can it replace the tried and true?
